Jürgen Mantzke, UX and product designer

I began in editorial design, working across regional and national publications where I art-directed photo shoots, collaborated with illustrators, and managed full print production. This work shaped my eye for clarity and visual storytelling, and my work earned several design awards, appeared in national design annuals, and was even featured in the New York Times. This foundation in visual communication continues to guide how I approach digital product design.

As digital platforms became central to how people consumed content, I shifted into UI and UX by teaching myself HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms like WordPress and Drupal. I also worked with Flash, SVG, and motion graphics. Consulting for editorial sites, ecommerce, and web applications gave me hands‑on experience with real constraints and fast problem solving, and formed the landscape of the UX work I do today.

Over the past decade, I have focused on designing clear, data‑driven solutions for complex systems. I have worked with organizations such as Alaska Airlines, Amazon, Boeing, CBRE, Hitachi, Microsoft, and Yale University, learning how to quickly understand new domains and design systems that scale. My recent work centers on design system architecture, workflow clarity, and AI‑supported processes that help teams work more efficiently.

Today, I work as a UX consultant supporting teams that need strong design system practice, clear thinking, and practical guidance on integrating AI into their design and engineering workflows. I partner with organizations that want to simplify complexity and create experiences that feel intuitive and genuinely helpful. My approach is collaborative, hands‑on, and grounded in real‑world problem solving, and I am available for consulting engagements, freelance collaborations, or full‑time roles where thoughtful design can make a meaningful impact.
